Platform Evaluation
|
Short description of e-Learning acitivities within the Institution
- Building up the eLearning Competence Centre (CCSP) of the FHNW
- Coordination of eLearning activities, linking of supporting institutions (creating information-platforms, best Practice examples, ...)
- Assisting SVC-projects (3rd round)
- Conceptual consultation for responsables of institutes and curricula (Studienlehrgänge) with the focus on integration of eLearning within teaching and research (Bologna Modell)
- Setting up offers for extended vocational training in the field of Blended Learning concepts for teachers
- Teaching in media- and didactics-related modules in educational and vocational training-programs (teachers and adults in general)
Current situation
- eLearning activities are un-coordinated (each offer starting from scratch)
- Too often, tools and platforms are the primary concerns in the field of eLearning
- Lack of an overall didactical, methodological and organisational (!) overview and implementation
Know-how and vision
- Coaching teachers on-the-job based on Best Practice examples
- Linking didactical concepts with their concrete implementation
- Promotion and support for low-level start-ups with progressiv deepening in the field of eLearning (collaboration being on the top of the wish-list; Acces to existing eLearning-contents would be nice)
- Modular learn-settings focusing on:
- Administration
- Distribution und Interaction
- Collaboration
Main interests in e-Learning with regard to the users
- Users have access to existing, transparent learning-settings
- These learning-settings are understandable and implemented within a communicative master plan (of the institution)
- Users (often using different platforms!) feel "at home" thanks to the navigational-clarity and to coaches consulting on didactical, technical or organisational levels.
- Learning-platforms and tools fullfill the given needs:
- Beginners using beginner-specific sections of the platform. Later, additional options and tools may be added
- Teachers and learners are using ICT not only within a given didactical design but for informal exchange as well
- ICT is part of everyday life and ... its fun!
