Vista Requests
List of most important feature requests and unsolved bugs.
General wishes
High priority
- Enhance reaction times with support requests. We expect a substancial answers within 48 hours after a request was submitted.
- Enhance times with fixing bugs. We expect simple or critical bugs to be fixed 1 month after their submission. For complex bugs a fixing time of a few months is acceptable.
- Better communication of issues and bugs. We need to know, which service packs cause which new issues.
- Better communication of roadmap.
Generally speaking, we expect a service quality that is comparable to open source products like Moodle, Sakai or Olat.
Feature Requests
High priority
- Be more tolerant with browser settings. Users must be able to use Vista with common default browser settings [Feb 05].
- Make Vista less dependent from Java VM in the browser.
Do not complain in the browser checker if JavaVM is not
installed. Tools like the html-editor and the file manager
work, but have limited functionality without Java VM. Alert
the user that the full potential of these tools is only
available with Java VM [Feb 05].
And yes, why not replace the Applets by Ajax-based applications? - Allow export of courses in an un-encrypted format [Nov 06]
- RQST00000276124 allow selftests with immediate feedback [Jan 05]
- Glossary (this feature request is open since almost 3 years) [Feb 04]:
- import/export glossary of a section at once
- change properties of many glossary items at once
- allow multi-word glossary items
- Students must be able to change their interface language (this feature request is open since almost 3 years) [Feb 04].
