Provide Self-Learning Introduction for Students

It has become a well proven praxis for teachers to introduce their students to the online part of their seminar or training event during a face-to face meeting. That is where they can make certain that all of them have managed to enter it and where they can engage them into a first online activity. This is often a forum discussion, but can also be the test run of an online assignment or group work.

Nevertheless it will be much too time consuming to try out or even explain all of the main features of a Vista course in a face-to-face session. You therefore should complement that first introduction by giving your students access to a online course with some introductory texts and/or alternatively some animations explaining the most important tools in Vista. Such a course has been provided in English by the WebCT-company and is accessible in the form of a template on the domain level in the Swiss National Content Server. You will have to create a new section, assign the template and enroll the students.
