As of August 1st, 2008, the Edutech web site will no longer be updated. Edutech was funded by the Swiss Virtual Campus programme, which ended on July 31st, 2008. Some activities will be taken over by the e-Learning Services group at the SWITCH foundation.

The Tools
In the designer tools to the left side the following tools can be accessed:
Tools
In a WebCT course, you use tools to perform specific activities. You can determine which tools will be used in the course. For example, if you want to create quizzes, you add the Assessments tool and use it to create and modify quizzes. Or if you want to create discussion topics, you use the Discussions tool.
Course Menu
The course menu contains links to Course Tools and role-specific tools, listed under Designer Tools, Instructor Tools, or My Tools for Students. The course menu is visible throughout the course so users can access tools and their content by clicking the links. You can temporarily hide tools from Students by hiding links to tools on the course menu.
Colors
You can customize a course by choosing text and background colors. You can also use predefined color sets, including a high contrast set.
Course Content Icons
The Course Content tool is a central location where you can organize and present content. You can customize the Course Content tool by choosing different WebCT icon styles or using your own icons.
Settings
Settings determine which tools and features are enabled in your course. For each setting you can set the value for the course, where the current value can be:
- the default value.
- a value selected at a parent learning context and copied to all child learning contexts.
- a value selected by you.
Note: If a setting displays the message You do not have permission to view this locked setting, it has been locked at a parent learning context and you cannot modify it.
Import
You can import a variety of content into a course, such as content from third-party applications and other WebCT courses. You can also import an entire WebCT Campus Edition 4.x course.

Course Preview Page Setup
You can set up the Course Preview Page to provide information about a course. The Course Preview
Page is public and can be seen by all users, including those who are not enrolled in the course. The Course Preview Page can be a single page or a set of linked HTML files, like a web site.
